A Spotlight on our Staff Members Volunteer Work

Two team members from Pediatric Hair Solutions will be traveling to the Dominican Republic with a group from Carmel Christian School to volunteer at Freedom Christian School near Ramon Santana.

The school educates children ages 3 to 18 years old from the surrounding villages of Lima, Campina, Pinones, Diego, Cabeza de Toro, Bejucal, Guanabano, La Parcela, La Varsa, La Cubana, and Roman Santana.

The group will be bringing donated medical, school and construction supplies. The Dominican Republic suffers from marked income inequality with the poorest half of the population receiving less than one-fifth of the GDP.

Volunteers from Charlotte will be helping with children in the school and assisting in the construction of a new school building on the Freedom campus.

In February, Freedom Christian School requested the donation of head lice treatment kits. Pediatric Hair Solutions donated $5,000 worth of lice treatment packages as well as prevention spray.

This month, the PHS team will be bringing an additional $2,000 worth of lice treatment supplies and will be administering lice treatment while at the school.

We encourage you to follow Pediatric Hair Solutions Charlotte Facebook page to see daily video updates on the journey of the Charlotte team and how they are impacting the lives of underprivileged children in the Dominican Republic.
